You've been warned … I'm boring

More Jogging

My second time out running with the Nike+ I went 3.23  miles in the 30 minutes and averaged 9’16″/mi.

My third time out (today) I went about 3.25 or 3.26. (My sportband said 3.26 but when I loaded it to the Nike+ site it listed it as 3.25) So I’m increasing my distance each time. (Note: I deleted my times I originally listed b/c I discovered I’m an idiot in reading my sportband) I averaged 9’12″ /mi.

Not bad. I know that my times are painfully slow to runners but as a beginner who hasn’t done this before and who isn’t in the world’s best shape, I’m pretty content with it. I mean, I’m not planning to compete in any races or anything like that. Just running to run and hopefully get in decent shape.

I think I’m going to try to go out tomorrow and just run a mile again since it’s technically my “off” day.

That may or may not happen though, since my ears feel clogged today and I feel kind of like a bout of vertigo is coming on. I’ve bent over a couple of times and raised up and had that whole “room spining” feeling. So I’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning. Probably wouldn’t be wise to run if that is going on. I’d rather not crack my head open on the sidewalk….

Sounds like you need a day off! Congrats on the training though, if you keep building up the mileage and the speed slowly (like you are doing now) then you will be flying along in no time!

I am just recovering from an injury and am having to build things up pretty slowly as well…I just wish I was fitter!

Hi, just found your blog today. I enjoying running and I think that your time is excellent. Are you sure you are a beginner? ;-) I also follow baseball. Maddux, Smoltz and Glavine, the big 3 for ATL…all HOF pitchers. Have a great day!
