Quick Update
I’ve been able to run some the last few days (did 4 miles on Saturday and again today). The pain is still there but, it’s no worse, and maybe a little better, so I’m just dealing with it. Hopefully at some point I’ll be able to get my mileage back up to normal. Not sure how well that will go with the temperatures rising, but I’ll give it a shot.
Got a website I’m going to be working on that I’m pretty excited about. Our vet is opening up his own animal hospital and asked if I could do the site. I’m really looking forward to it. And I can’t begin to express how relieved I am that he’s still staying locally. Whew! The thought of having to go to another vet gives me a panic attack. lol. So luckily that is not the case.
Still dealing with a little bit of …. blahness/loneliness/depression-like feelings. Sometimes I’ll kind of get out of it and then before I know it, it’s back again. I’m having trouble fully shaking it.

Took two more days off from running and thought my leg might be better. Went out this morning to run and it still hurts. lol. Hurt the entire 5K. Oh well. Despite that, I was a full minute faster than the previous run I did. Sweet!
I’m going to try to go out and run again tomorrow. I probably shouldn’t since the pain is still there but, it doesn’t hurt THAT bad. I can still run on it and not be in too much pain. And, frankly, I’m tired of waiting for it to feel better. So I’ll run on it again and just make sure it doesn’t get any worse.
If it gets worse, I’ll stop. If it stays the same, I’ll deal.

1. Still having the leg pain. Perplexed as to what this could be. My ankle (same leg) has been achy the last couple of days too.
2. I did end up running again yesterday. I got my Garmin in the mail and was really itching to try it out, so I sucked it up and did 5k. I discovered something. I’ve apparently (provided the Garmin is accurate and I have no reason to think it isn’t) been underestimating my speed and distance. My uncalibrated Nike sportband is not nearly and inaccurate as I thought it was. Basically, instead of the sportband being about .2 miles faster, it is really like .04 or .05 faster. In other words..when I thought I had run 10 miles the other week? I had really done closer to 11.5 miles. Wow. I’m pretty psyched! I mean, my speed still isn’t fast AT ALL, but it’s much better than I thought it was. I might try to run again tomorrow. Hopefully I don’t injure myself further. I can’t help it. I hate not running.
3. My sister found out she is having a boy. She’s excited. I keep looking at baby stuff to buy her. I love looking at all that stuff…..

So after I ran the 10 miles on Saturday, I went back out on Monday and ran 6 miles. I felt perfectly fine throughout the entire run. Then once I had finished and been home for an hour or so, my right leg started to hurt. It’s my right lower leg, a little bit below my knee and to the outer part of my leg … I guess toward the top of the fibula … around that area. If I push on that area, it hurts. I noticed it when I went to walk the dogs. As the day went on, I didn’t really feel it anymore when I walked, but I tested it a few times just running for a few seconds in the house and I really felt it. So, I skipped running on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The leg felt absolutely fine just walking around, so this morning I got back out there and ran 3 (very slow) miles and my leg hurt the entire time. It wasn’t so painful that I couldn’t run (obviously, since I did) but it hurt enough that I don’t think I could have run much more than the 3 miles And to be honest, it now hurts more than it did before. If I move a certain way (especially standing up from a sitting position) it hurts. And every now and then if I step wrong I feel it too. I kind of have a dull ache in my ankle too, now, which I’m not sure is related or not (I get that every now and then and have for years) Running on it probably wasn’t the smartest thing but I really don’t want to be sidelined from running. I realize if I run on an injury I could make it worse and REALLY be sidelined from it, but I also don’t want to be a wimp and be sitting out from running if it’s not a big deal and something I can push through. How do you know if it’s just normal soreness and something legit? It feels like it’s in such an odd spot ….
And to top it all off, guess what I finally broke down and ordered the other day? My Garmin Forerunner I’ve been coveting for awhile. It should arrive next week. I hope I can actually use it when I get it! Such bad timing …..

Today Ratchet was sitting by the back door with his head down, looking sad. I asked him if he needed to go outside and opened the door for him. He didn’t budge. I shut the door and said, “You don’t want to go outside? Do you want to play?”
His ears perked up.
“You want to play. Go get your toy”
He ran off and grabbed his toy.
I love him.
